Team work is one of the most valuable life skills that any person can learn. It is essential throughout life be it at school, in the work place or in a social environment.

These programme's are designed to challenge groups in a way which helps them to develop their personal skills and their ability to work in a team. The programme places great emphasis on setting goals and using them to build self-esteem and positive relationships within the group. Individual programme's can easily be integrated into ongoing development experiences.

We can tailor these programme's for specific groups from primary school groups to corporate events.

At the end of the stay we run a review session to go over what has been learnt and achieved, plus importantly what the next steps to build on these are.

The activities can include:

Nightwalk Challenge & Orienteering
This is an orienteering exercise where the group learn about map reading and route planning. To successfully complete the challenge they must work together as a team and navigate their way back from their drop off point or to their next activity. We have a number of routes we use depending on the ability and age of the group and there is always a great sense of achievement when they finish the route. For younger groups we can do orienteering sessions on site or in the adjoining fields and for the older groups we can make it as strenuous as required!

Ropes Course
We are lucky enough at our Swanage centre to have the second largest ropes course in Europe a short distance away. This is a test of nerves and balance at various heights from just off the ground to 60ft high. There are over 50 different challenges at the course and the session is very much about pushing your own boundaries. Our instructors are trained to offer the support and provide the confidence needed so you can really make the most of the course. The problems faced require a calm head under pressure and a real team spirit to overcome some tricky situations.

Climbing and Abseiling
Close to our Swanage centre is the magnificent Dancing Ledge venue with stunning scenery and challenging climbs this is the perfect place to try out rock climbing on real rock. Climbing is very much about achieving personal goals, but good teamwork is also vital, we get the whole group involved as much as possible be it doing the belaying under our supervision or helping others find that elusive hand hold.

We also have a newly renovated climbing and abseil tower on site which can be the perfect introduction to the sport.

Initiative Exercises & Pioneering
At the core of any residential experience is the bonds and friendships that are made while spending time together away from home. We offer a wide range of sessions to help groups improve their problem solving and communication skills in a fun and entertaining way. These range from simple tasks to building a bridge over a swimming pool!

Overnight Bivi & Survival Skills
For those groups feeling really adventurous we run overnight sessions in local woods. There is nothing quite like sitting round a campfire before spending the night under a self made shelter. The group will have to orienteer their way over to the site and once there they will need to build their own overnight shelter with the equipment provided. After this they will be feeling hungry so its then time to cook their dinner on the campfire. This can be one of the most rewarding activities there is and gives a real sense of adventure.
