Spiritual Awakenings provide you with comfortable accommodation and hearty food in an exceptional setting which becomes your own home for the weekend. Our special programme of activities generally start with the Evening Meal on Friday and finish after lunch on Sunday although we can of course, quote for other requests.

At East Dene we have rooms for relaxation, study and a sacred space for worship. The ten acres of grounds and gardens invite walks, play and contemplation. A little further and you are on the beach of Monks Bay.

Whatever your tradition or none, East Dene presents a wonderful ambience for refreshment and renewal. Crossing the Solent to the Island gives you  the real feeling of “getting away from it all” without having to travel for miles or queue for hours at busy airports. It’s 30 minutes by sea at the most and then you have landed on an island where it is claimed that:  “All this beauty is of God”.

For many involved in pressurised work or demanding leadership situations the going can often get tough and be seemingly unrewarding, it is important to take time out to get things back into perspective.

“JUDGE EACH DAY < NOT BY THE HARVEST< BUT BY THE SEEDS YOU PLANT”

At East Dene we work with many groups of people who need a safe and comfortable space and some relaxed and unintimidating input to gently challenge complacency, tradition and inward thinking. Our aim is to link the treasures of the past with the opportunities of the future.

We offer a number of workshops where we encourage open and honest discussion about spirituality in the context of our world today and how this can be expressed in a variety of ways. Respect
for others views is paramount.

East Dene is strongly linked to the delightful Old Church of St Boniface just outside the gate, a tiny chapel which gives one a sense of timelessness and tradition.

“This age old church bids welcome
To all who pass her way
With such an air of holy peace
One feels the urge to stay.
To pause a while, forget the world,
Its pressures and its strident voice,
So quietly enter this tranquil place
And there let your heart rejoice.
That even in such times as these,

When worldly profits set the pace,
So filled with peace, with love and grace,
Then to it let our footsteps trace,
The Old Church of St Boniface!”
