Our Coastal Discovery and Adventure Week and Coastal Discovery Short Week allow children to discover the wonders of the environment through hands on learning experiences in fantastic locations. Both programmes cover a number of curriculum matched topics aimed at key stage 2. The full week programme also allows the opportunity to take part in some of our Personal Skills and Teambuilding activities. The aim is to guide the children through a series of related sessions to an understanding of, and identity with, the natural world. The emphasis on learning through creative play.

PROGRAMME MODULES
- Orientation to ensure the physical and emotional safety and welfare of each child and adult.
- Personal Skills such as archery & climbing to build self esteem.
- An understanding of the geographical features of the beach plus traditional beach games, sandcastles and sculptures.
- Team Building Tasks to encourage children to work together and for each other.
- A Seaside Adventure discovering interesting facts about its history and geography through the anecdotes of its “local residents”.
- An inspiring Trailblaze which can include such sights as Old Harry Rocks and the beautiful beach at Studland.
Every evening the group will have a planned recreational activity which could be anything from a murder mystery to an Allnatt disco.
By the end of your stay your group will have a clear understanding of the coastal environment and its geographical features as well as having learnt new personal skills and increased team building knowledge.
