In 1924 Joseph Allnatt set up a school journey centre and, nearly 90 years later, we are proud to carry on the tradition of educating and inspiring both children and adults at our venues. We continue to provide a unique blend of Educational programmes for schools & colleges and Inspirational venues for families and groups. Our company ethos, 
our values, and the ‘family’ atmosphere at our centres means that you will want to come back time after time. Sharing our love of teaching outdoors and welcoming you into our centres, at East Dene and the Chatsworth, is what we are all about.
We are committed to providing first class learning & discovering at our Centres, in our grounds and at our study sites. Our teaching team is approved by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom and we have Registered Practitioners of the Institute of Outdoor Learning.
Our continued aim is to provide a quality teaching service to schools, colleges and universities who use our centres for a residential educational visit. We use highly qualified outdoor professionals to deliver an exciting range of programmes and courses from KS2 Coastal Discovery to KS4 Geography Field Studies on the Jurassic Coast.
During the school holidays our venues are much sought after for a range of group activities from historical re-enactment, to Jazz and Blues weekends to hosting overseas groups. The Chatsworth is in an unbeatable location on the Dorset Jurassic Coast whilst East Dene is such an inspiring Victorian Mansion it has become a hugely popular wedding venue too.
